Program Dates
2027 Season
Overview
Discover this city’s rich musical heritage when you bring your ensemble to perform at the Montréal Heritage Festival. Students will grow as performers through expert instruction and feedback from adjudicators. This unique opportunity also includes the chance to take in a Montréal Symphony concert or Broadway show, getting a bird's eye view of the city from Mount Royal Park, and visiting an authentic French Canadian cabane à sucre.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Montréal
AIM Experience Masterclass
Kick off the weekend with a customized masterclass through the AIM Experience. Spend 60-90 minutes working with a professional clinician to refine your festival performance, strengthen your skills, and reinforce what you’ve learned in the classroom.
Sugar Shack Dinner
Get ready to party like it's 1699! At La Sucrerie de la Montagne, an authentic French Canadian cabane à sucre outside of the city, you're going to learn about maple syrup production methods, feast on a 17th Century meal and get down to traditional songs and dances. Don't forget to add some syrup to your pea soup (we're not kidding).
Day 2
Festival performances
Take the Heritage Festival stage and showcase your ensemble in a professionally adjudicated performance, with 30-35 minutes on stage for a panel of three adjudicators who provide both written and recorded feedback. Following your performance, one adjudicator leads an on-stage clinic with your group, offering real-time instruction and reinforcing techniques that connect directly to your classroom learning, while students also have the opportunity to watch peer ensembles and gain inspiration from other performances.
Old Montréal haunted walking tour
Follow a storyteller through the streets of Old Montréal and uncover some of the city’s most chilling legends, eerie tales, and unexplained phenomena on a ghost tour of what was once known as Ville-Marie.
Attend a Montréal Symphony or Broadway performance
Enjoy an evening of live music or theatre with a symphony or Broadway performance.
Day 3
Festival performances continued
Festival performances continue throughout the day. Your ensemble’s scheduled performance time will be shared in advance, allowing you to plan your day accordingly while enjoying the full festival experience.
Mount Royal
Take in an incredible view of the city from this famous park.
AURA at the Notre-Dame Basilica
Experience Notre-Dame Basilica in a new way during AURA, an immersive multimedia show created by Montréal’s own Moment Factory.
Awards Ceremony
Celebrate with new and old friends at your exclusive awards ceremony at Riverside Church. Choirs, orchestras, and bands are recognized for high scores within their class, along with standout individuals honoured for exceptional performances.
