Overview
Immerse your players in the rich soccer culture of Portugal — the oldest country in Europe. They’ll learn from professionals in exclusive coaching clinics, compete against local teams, attend a professional soccer match, and get a private tour of Estado da Luz. They’ll explore the cobblestone streets of Lisbon’s Avenida da Liberdade, wander the maze of the Alfama, and stand in awe of the Ponte Vasco da Gama, Europe’s second-longest bridge. Plus, they’ll travel to Sintra, a town and UNESCO World Heritage Site long-renowned by poets and artists — and favorite summer retreat of the Kings of Portugal.

Meet your Tour Director
Your 24-hour Tour Director will meet you at the airport and remain with your group until your final airport departure.
Welcome meeting and orientation

Day 3
Lisbon guided sightseeing tour
Explore Portugal’s capital city as you visit the Monument to the Discoveries and consider Portugal’s Age of Exploration. Tour Mosteiro dos Jerónimos to study Manueline architecture and the legacy of Vasco da Gama, then examine Belém Tower’s defensive role along the Tagus River. Discuss the engineering of Ponte Vasco da Gama and take in panoramic views from the Mirador de Santa Justa while reflecting on Lisbon’s blend of medieval heritage and modern growth.
Castelo de São Jorge visit
Explore Castelo de São Jorge, the historic heart of Lisbon and the city's birthplace. Once home to the Phoenicians and later various conquerors, this iconic castle reveals Lisbon's rich past.
Friendly soccer match
Play an international friendly match against a local club or academy team. Compete against athletes of similar ages and skill levels, and build connections that can turn into lasting friendships.
Day 4
Sintra excursion
Explore Sintra, a scenic town just outside Lisbon known for its royal history and wooded hills. Visit the National Palace of Sintra, one of Portugal’s best-preserved medieval royal residences, and learn how it served as a summer retreat for Portuguese kings. Enjoy free time to explore the town’s charming streets and cultural landmarks.
Attend professional soccer match
Experience a professional soccer match like never before as you chant and cheer alongside passionate fans and watch world-famous players compete on the pitch (subject to league schedule).
Day 5
Estádio da Luz guided visit
Take a guided tour of Estádio da Luz, home to Benfica. This iconic stadium reflects the greatness of its host club and stands as the largest and most modern sports venue in Portugal. Since its inauguration, it has hosted over 11 million spectators and countless matches and events.

Day 6
Professional coaching clinic
Participate in this special clinic with a guest coach, player, or instructor. The clinic is designed exclusively for your team and to enhance your skills in the areas identified by your coaching staff.
Day 7
Training session led by your own coaching staff
Participate in a training session at a local field in the area.
Belém walking tour
Take a walking tour of Belém to explore Portugal’s past through its grand architecture. View Praça do Império, the Archaeological Museum, and the Palácio de Belém.
Day 8

Play an international friendly match against a local club or academy team. Compete against athletes of similar ages and skill levels, and build connections that can turn into lasting friendships.
Free time at the beach
Spend some time relaxing on one of Lisbon's magnificent beaches. Enjoy the sand, sun and watch the surfers as you relax for the day. The beaches have numerous activities available for everyone to enjoy.
Day 9
Return home

Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance
Through the WorldStrides Canada Financial Assistance Program (FAP), we provide travel grants to elementary and secondary school facing financial hardship. These grants, which can be up to $250 for coach tours and up to $1,000 for flight tours, are designed to make our programs more accessible to students from all backgrounds. Interested families are encouraged to speak with their school to learn more about our confidential application process.
Payment Plans
Monthly Automated Plan
Enroll with a deposit of $99 plus the cost of your travel protection plan (if included). We’ll automatically debit the rest of your tour fee from your chequing account in equal monthly payments, with the final payment due 35 days before you travel.
Please note: If two consecutive payments are declined, your account will be moved to the 4-Step Manual Plan.
4-Step Manual Plan
Manage your payments manually with a $249 initial payment plus your travel protection plan costs (if included). You’ll then make three more payments at key milestones as your departure date approaches. The final balance is due 65 days before your trip.
Please note: Payments on this plan are not automatically deducted and must be made manually.
