Grow your team’s skills and the love of basketball internationally in Athens, known for its rich athletic history. Players will sharpen their techniques by training on an international court and competing in exhibition games against local teams. Round out this exceptional educational basketball adventure with visits to historic sites like the Parthenon and excursions to Corinth and Delphi.
Itinerary
Day 1
Overnight flight to Greece (Athens)
Day 2
Arrive in Athens
Welcome meeting and orientation
Training session led by your own coaching staff
Participate in a training session at a local pitch in the area.
Day 3
Athens guided sightseeing tour
Acropolis site visit, Parthenon, Syntagma Square, Agora, Theatre of Dionysus
Exhibition game
Play an international exhibition game against a local team of similar age and skill level.
Day 4
Mycenae & Corinth full-day excursion
Discover two of the Peloponnese's most significant historic sites on a full-day excursion to Ancient Corinth and Mycenae. Explore the remains of Ancient Corinth, one of Greece's most important city-states, before visiting Mycenae, the legendary Bronze Age centre associated with Agamemnon and Homer's epics. Massive fortification walls, royal tombs, and the iconic Lion Gate offer insight into the achievements and lasting influence of the Mycenaean civilization.
Day 5
Athens city walk
In Athens, history is never far away. Walk with your Tour Director through the Plaka district, where winding streets reveal balconies filled with flowers and tavernas alive with traditional dancing. Then visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus, begun in the 6th century BC and finished by Hadrian in AD 132, and see Hadrian’s Arch, once marking the divide between ancient and imperial Athens.
Day 6
Delphi guided sightseeing tour
Explore the impressive ruins of Delphi, once considered by the ancient Greeks to be the center of the world. During a guided sightseeing tour, visit the archaeological site and the Temple of Apollo, where the famous Oracle of Delphi delivered Apollo's prophecies. Set on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, the site also offers sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.

Day 7
Cape Sounion guided excursion
Visit the Temple of Poseidon, perched high above the Aegean Sea at Cape Sounion, the southernmost tip of mainland Greece. Walk among the towering marble columns of this 5th-century BC temple, built around the same time as the Parthenon, and take in sweeping views of the coastline and sea.

Hydra excursion
Travel to Hydra by Ferry, Hydra walking tour, The Cathedral of the Assumption, Travel to Athens by Ferry

Financial Assistance
Financial Assistance
Through the WorldStrides Canada Financial Assistance Program (FAP), we provide travel grants to elementary and secondary school facing financial hardship. These grants, which can be up to $250 for coach tours and up to $1,000 for flight tours, are designed to make our programs more accessible to students from all backgrounds. Interested families are encouraged to speak with their school to learn more about our confidential application process.
Payment Plans
Monthly Automated Plan
Enroll with a deposit of $99 plus the cost of your travel protection plan (if included). We’ll automatically debit the rest of your tour fee from your chequing account in equal monthly payments, with the final payment due 35 days before you travel.
Please note: If two consecutive payments are declined, your account will be moved to the 4-Step Manual Plan.
4-Step Manual Plan
Manage your payments manually with a $249 initial payment plus your travel protection plan costs (if included). You’ll then make three more payments at key milestones as your departure date approaches. The final balance is due 65 days before your trip.
Please note: Payments on this plan are not automatically deducted and must be made manually.
