    • What are the age restrictions on WorldStrides Tours?

      All tour participants must be at least 6 years of age at the time of departure. Participants 23 years or older are considered adults and are required to pay an adult rooming supplement (see adult accommodations).

    • Do you offer a travel protection plan?

      The Travel Protection Plan Plus, which includes the “Explorer” insurance package from TuGo, covers you for a range of events, including:

      • A traveller's injury, sickness, or death of a family member;
      • Theft of passport or visas;
      • Flight cancellations and delays;
      • Loss of luggage and personal effects;
      • Trip cancellation or trip interruption due to covered reasons such as illness, injury, death, acts of terror;
      • Trip cancellation due to Government of Canada travel advisory for “avoid all travel” or “avoid non-essential travel”;
      • School Board or governing organization-enforced trip cancellations
      • The cost of Travel Protection Plan Plus is $28 per day of your tour, to a maximum of $420. The plan should be purchased within 10 days of your tour enrolment to ensure maximum coverage and cannot be refunded after 7 days from purchase.
    • How are refunds issued for over payments or cancellations?

      If your account has an overpayment, WorldStrides Canada will process your refund once all funds have cleared the bank. This usually takes 2-3 weeks from the time the refund is posted. If your account has been cancelled, any refund due will be processed within 6 weeks of the date of cancellation.

      If you purchased the Travel Protection Plan Plus, please refer to the "Explorer" insurance package. WorldStrides Canada issues refunds in the same method payments were made, unless paid directly from a chequing account in which case a cheque will be issued.

      Please note that WorldStrides Canada cannot refund credit cards that were not originally used for payments, or that exceed the total amount charged to that card. Please contact Customer Service at 888-378-8845 with questions concerning your refund.

    • Can participants with special needs go on a WorldStrides tour?

      Yes. WorldStrides welcomes participants of all kinds and makes every effort to accommodate a student’s special needs. For educator-led programs, students should ask the teacher leading their program to contact his or her Program Consultant regarding any special needs so we may take care of the necessary arrangements.

      Please note that there may be some activities in which a traveller is unable to participate. WorldStrides will be happy to work with anyone who has mobility or other issues to try to make it possible for them to participate. Additionally, we recommend that students with special needs investigate their destination(s) to make sure any special care would be available, and consult with a physician prior to travel.

    • What if we experience travel delays?

      We cannot guarantee your arrival time due to the unpredictable nature of travel. For that reason, we highly suggest purchasing the Travel Protection Plan Plus. If your flight is delayed due to bad weather or mechanical issues, work with your airline directly to secure seats on a new flight. Upon arrival, you will join the tour in progress. If your bus travel is delayed due to bad weather, it’s possible that your group may miss the first few activities on your itinerary.

    • Are you compliant with the AODA?

      Yes. WorldStrides Canada follows all required regulations as outlined by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. For more information, please refer to our official Accessibility Policy.

    • How do you handle baggage expenses?

      Each traveller is responsible for paying their personal baggage fees at the airport. Contact the airline for additional details.

    • Can I obtain frequent flyer miles on a WorldStrides trip?

      Depending on the airline, you may be eligible to receive frequent flyer miles despite flying on a group ticket. Please contact the airline directly for further information.

    • What happens if I don't complete my tour payments?

      Your reservation will be cancelled if you do not complete your payment plan (standard cancellation fees apply).

    • What are the restrictions on the adult accommodations?

      All participants 23 years of age or older will be automatically assigned a twin room unless a single room upgrade is chosen at enrolment. The twin rooming supplement fee is $60 per night ($95 per night on cruise ships) or $115 per night with a single room upgrade. Single rooms are not available on night trains, cruises, or ferries, and upgrades must be requested by 110 days prior to departure. Rooming assignments are selected at the discretion of your Program Leader and all rooming requests should be submitted at least 110 days before your trip departs.
